Emergency and Specialty Services

Emergency Services

Much like human Emergency Rooms, our patients are victims of unexpected disease or trauma. Our highly trained medical staff offers a wide range of services to support the recovery and treatment of critically and chronically ill pets. Our ER team is lead by a Board Certified Emergency and Critical Care Specialist. This team of doctors and nurses are on duty during those times when your family veterinarian may not be available – nights, weekends and major holidays. We work closely with your family veterinarian, sharing information as a team of professionals caring for your pet. No appointment is necessary for our Emergency and Critical Care services, but please call ahead so we know you are on your way.

Specialty Services

Critical Care

Most often our clients are referred to us by their family veterinarian. While this recommendation is not necessary to make an appointment to see one of our Specialists, it is customary. We work with your family veterinarian and you, the pet owner, to develop a comprehensive treatment plan for your pet. This assures the best continuity of care and success. Your family veterinarian will recommend a specialist that they feel can best help your pet.

Internal Medicine

Our Internal Medicine department works closely with you and your family veterinarian, sharing information as a team of professionals caring for your pet.   Internal Medicine doctors have advanced training in the diagnosis and treatment of complex disorders of the gastro-intestinal, pulmonary, renal, hepatic, immunologic and hematologic, cardiac and endocrine systems.  We are fully equipped to provide in-house ultrasound and minimally invasive procedures and diagnostics such as bronchoscopy, endoscopy and rhinoscopy.

Oncology

Our Oncology department provides the highest quality, comprehensive and compassionate cancer treatment for pets in North Seattle, through our new full service hospital.  AMCS works with pet owners and their family veterinarians step by step, to help them understand more about their pet's cancer and assit them in making informed decisions regarding diagnostic testing and treatment options.  Once a client makes a decision, AMCS implements the treatment program and all treatments are overseen by an experienced, veterinarian whose practice is limited to Oncology.  Today, there are more options than ever before such as chemotherapy, immunotherapy, radiation therapy, surgery, acupuncture and clinical trials.  The overall goal of AMSC is to provide all medical cancer services and cancer-related, including chemotherapy, surgery, clinical trials, nutritional support.  While radiation therapy facilities are not available at our location at this time, we regularly work with our clients and patients to schedule radiation therapy as required.  There are two facilities in the state that our Oncologist coordinates with on a regular basis.
