Alison Khoo
Dr. Alison Khoo was born in Malaysia and raised in Perth, Western Australia.
She earned her veterinary degree from Murdoch University in 2011. Following her university studies, Dr. Khoo completed a one-year oncology/internal medicine internship at Perth Veterinary Specialists in Western Australia and a small animal rotating internship at Mississippi State University.
In 2017 she completed her three-year residency in small animal internal medicine at Western College of Veterinary Medicine in Saskatchewan, Canada. She became board-certified by the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine.
Dr. Khoo’s residency project, Effects of Resuscitative Fluid Therapy on Cardiac Biomarkers, was accepted for publication. Her article entitled Intranasal Mast Cell Tumor in the Dog: A Case Series has been published in the Canadian Veterinary Journal. She was also the 2016 recipient of the ACVIM’s Resident Research Award. In the summer of 2021, Dr. Khoo decided to journey west with her Shetland Sheepdog, Porsha, to join the internal medicine department at the Animal Medical Center of Seattle. She enjoys all aspects of internal medicine but has a special interest in endoscopy (including gastroscopy, cystoscopy, and bronchoscopy).
When Dr. Khoo has some free time, she enjoys hiking, scuba diving, and karaoke.
