Katherine Spry

Following graduation from Iowa State University’s College of Veterinary Medicine in 1991, Dr. Katherine Spry ventured to Minnesota and Wisconsin, where she worked as a mixed animal practitioner for three years. She later decided to move on to a career in emergency and critical care and traveled to Mission, Kansas, for an opportunity to work in a newly emerging 24-hour emergency and specialty clinic.

After practicing emergency medicine for a total of 16 years, and in an effort to further her knowledge and expertise, Dr. Spry undertook a three-year private practice internal medicine residency at a specialty hospital in Overland Park, Kansas. Following completion of her residency, she continued on for another six years working in internal medicine and serving as one of the founding members of an emergency and specialty hospital in Kansas City, Missouri. In 2020, Dr. Spry moved to the beautiful Pacific Northwest to join the Animal Medical Center of Seattle’s Internal Medicine Department.

Dr. Spry has a special interest in endocrine and immune-mediated disorders, along with hepatobiliary and gastrointestinal disease processes, which she has presented numerous continuing education lectures on. When Dr. Spry is away from work, she enjoys spending time with her four cats, CrossFit, practicing martial arts, and outdoor activities such as biking and hiking.
